

Batinah: Innovation and Scientific Olympiads play a significant role in achieving the strategic goals of the Ministry of Education, aiming for a better future for students. These programmes enhance students' talents and abilities, fostering problem-solving skills and encouraging the discovery of innovative solutions to complex scientific and mathematical issues. They make the process of research and exploration enjoyable for students across various sciences.
Recently, the General Directorate of Al Batinah North achieved outstanding global results, extending beyond local recognition. They have devoted substantial efforts to developing students' skills in various sciences, including innovation, robotics, research and mathematics.
The Creativity and Scientific Olympiad department at Al Batinah North devised a comprehensive plan involving training sessions and programmes implemented throughout the academic year, with the assistance of experts and coaches.
The students secured international and national awards in nine competitions. In the Science Olympiad, they obtained silver and bronze medals in the ninth session of the Gulf Mathematical Olympiad held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Additionally, they received the highest level of recognition, four stars, for student research in the environmental GLOBE programme.
In Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, they achieved the best research award for their renewable idea in the second session of the ALECSO Olympiad in Tunisia.
At the national level, they emerged winners in Oman's Robotics and Artificial Intelligence competitions in the drone category. They also achieved fifth place in the Shell Awards, sponsored by the NXplorer programme. Furthermore, they secured second and tenth places in the National Olympiad in Informatics and third place in the GLOBE Environmental Programme in the Sultanate of Oman.
Additionally, they attained second and fourth positions at the Sultanate level in the Student Scientific Innovations Competition.
The General Directorate is making commendable efforts to engage and discover talented students throughout the region. Through training programmes in scientific research, STEM programmes, robotics, innovation and environmental concepts, they have involved approximately 500 students from different areas throughout the year. These students actively participate in competitions across various fields, showcasing their skills and abilities.
