Ministry grants licences for taxi services at Oman airports

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology announced the granting of two licences to manage taxi services at the airports of the Sultanate of Oman.


The two licences came after it fulfilled the requirements and provisions of the regulation of the Land Transport Law, and the commitment to include all current taxi owners at airports in the applications, train them and develop their skills, and fulfill all the technical requirements specified by the Ministry in the license in order to upgrade the public transport system in Oman


The two licenses include, the Cloud World Company represented by 'Otaxi' application, and the Ubar Smart Cities represented by 'Oman Fare' application. Both are Omani companies. Their applications contain many smart options and features for use with ease and ease. The trip, with fixed prices, determined before the trip, while ensuring the privacy and security of the user.


The Ministry urged taxi drivers operating at airports to join the licenced applications no later than the first of next October, and the provision of service at airports will be limited to the organizers of those applications only. — ona
