Oman to host friendly vs Palestine tomorrow

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will host Palestine at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat on Wednesday for a friendly match.


The team will be playing tomorrow's match and the one against the United States with an eye on the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which are set to begin in October.


There have been only three previous clashes between the sides, with Oman winning twice and losing just once to Palestine.


Oman and Palestine meet for the first time since March 2018, when the former pulled off a 1-0 victory in the AFC Asia Cup qualifiers.


According to Branko Ivanković, Oman National Team Coach, "Tomorrow's match is important, like all matches, and we do not have a friendly match, It is one of the important matches to gain experience. All players are prepared despite some problems due to injuries to some players."


Salah al Yahyai was injured at the start of our camp and is completing the treatment program with the medical staff. Juma al Habsi was injured and will be not considered tomorrow.


Hareb al Saadi, captain of, the national team, said, "The players are fully prepared and injuries are part of the game and we will take every game very seriously."
