Oman to host 5th meeting of International Phytoplasmologist Working Group

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) will host the 5th meeting of the International Phytoplasmologist Working Group (IPWG) during the period from May 21-25, 2023.

The Sultanate of Oman is the first country from the Middle East to host the meeting of the IPWG. The first meeting was held in Italy, while the second was in Germany; the third in Mauritius and the fourth was held in Spain.


The meeting will be participated by more than 120 scientists, postgraduate students and specialists from Oman and abroad.


The meeting aims to highlight the developments in agricultural technologies related to detecting phytoplasma-associated plant diseases, among other topics.
