Oman's special location plays a big role in the abundance of meteorites found in its deserts, especially between Al Wusta Governorate and Dhofar Governorate. The collection of 2,892 meteorite samples, weighing about 8,000 kilogrammes, is a testament to Oman's cosmic heritage. At the Al Baleed Archaeological Park, the meteorite exhibition showcases Oman's commitment to preserving its cultural past and exploring the wonders of space. Visitors can experience an enriching historical journey, thanks to the ministry's efforts. Beyond their historical importance, meteorites are also valuable for scientific research.

Recognising the value of these celestial rocks, Oman's Cultural Heritage Law makes it clear that they belong to the state. Trading, owning, or searching for meteorites without official permission is strictly prohibited.

Oman's passion for science and cultural preservation makes it a leading advocate for responsible management of meteorites worldwide. By learning from these space treasures, Oman contributes to scientific knowledge and inspires curiosity about the mysteries of the cosmos.

As Oman continues to explore the universe, the meteorite exhibition at Al Baleed Archaeological Park invites everyone to join in the awe-inspiring journey through time and space.
