Met predicts rain over some parts of Oman

Muscat: Oman’s Weather Office on Thursday issued a rain alert starting from today afternoon over al Hajar mountain range.


“Heavy rainfall predicted over North al Sharqiyah, al Dhakhaliyah, North al Btinah, South al Batinah, Ad Dhahirah and Buraimi governorates with downdraft wind of 25-45 knots. Poor visibility due to dust rising and flash floods also expacted,” said the Met department in a statement.


Activity of local formations on the Hajar Mountains (Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah) with rain accompanied by active downward winds in parts of some wilayats of Al Dhahirah and Al Batinah Autumn clouds activity on the coasts and mountains of Dhofar, with chances of intermittent rains.
