

AL SUWAIQ: Al Suwaiq Municipality has completed the implementation of10 development projects in the municipal sector.
Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad al Sunaidy, Director-General of North Al Batinah Municipality, said that the pavement of internal roads in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq with a distance of 4.5 km has already been completed while other projects are yet to be completed.
The first phase of the pavement of internal roads with a total distance of 37.3 km is 80 per cent complete whereas the second phase (49.7 km) is nearly complete at an implementation rate of 97 per cent. The repair and rehabilitation of the damaged roads is 5 per cent complete, the official said.
Al Sunaidy said that 95 per cent of the municipal parking project has been completed. In addition, 15 per cent internal roads project at the compensatory schemes at a length of 48 km, has been completed and 60 per cent has been completed of the project for maintenance of roads damaged by the tropical condition Shaheen with a length of 7 km.
The maintenance of creeks affected by the tropical condition Shaheen has been completed. The municipality is supplying and installing stalls allocated to job-seekers for the selling of various products. Besides, the project of supplying and installing decorative lighting poles in the state has been completed.
Noteworthy, the North Al Batinah Municipality will award new projects in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq which will be announced after the completion of tender procedures. These projects aim at enhancing municipal services and upgrading various services related to the development and economic aspects. — ONA
