SUR: The Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah is presently conducting a number of advisory studies for development projects including for Khor Al Battah development and the execution of beautification project at Jabal Eid in the Wilayat of Sur.
Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiyah, said that the study related to the development of Khor Al Battah in the Wilayat of Sur comprises a number of surveys including a survey for measuring works, measuring waves, currents and water level, in addition to geotechnical soil survey.
The 4-pronged advisory study is expected to be completed with all its components by the end of the year, Al Maawali said, explaining that the Khor Al Battah area includes a number of tourist attractions that characterise the Wilayat of Sur.
He indicated that the governorate is currently executing a beautification project related to the development of the Al Tina area in Jabal Eid in the Wilayat of Sur, funded by the Oman LNG Company. The project includes a 1.2 km cycling and walking track, an open-air theatre, a bus parking and a children’s playground.
The governorate will float a tender to conduct an advisory study for the development of the market area in the Wilayat of Sur which includes treatment of water and sewage leaks. The governorate will soon announce a number of municipal projects in different wilayats of the governorate, he concluded. — ONA
