Workshop held to boost small pelagic fisheries management

MUSCAT: In a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), a consultative workshop was held to discuss the draft plan for the sustainable management and development of small pelagic fisheries in the Sultanate of Oman.


Through video communication, the workshop aimed to enhance the capabilities of stakeholders and specialists involved in the fisheries sector, ensuring the preservation and responsible utilisation of fish stocks, while also boosting economic returns and elevating product quality. Attendees included government officials, FAO representatives, as well as fisheries sector specialists and investors. - ONA
