Muscat: The tropical depression over the Arabian Sea has intensified into deep tropical depression, the Oman Meteorology Office said on Tuesday.


In an online statement, the Oman Met said the tropical condition located south central of the Arabian Sea is 1,165 km away from the Sultanate’s coasts.


According to the Met weather forecasters, the deep depression is likely to develop into tropical storm over the next 24 hours.


“It is expected to move north-northwestwards (towards the central of the Arabian Sea) with no direct impact on the Sultanate of Oman weather in the next five days”, the Oman Met stated
