ITTF, OTTA to run International TT Training Camp in Muscat

The Oman Table Tennis Association (OTTA), in coordination with the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), will run an International Table Tennis Training Camp in Muscat for eight days starting from Sunday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. The camp will be led and supervised under watchful eyes of the ITTF expert Hisham Ismail from Egypt in attendance of the national table tennis head coach Omid Shams Shaharbabki and the national women's table tennis head coach Fatemeh Kivani.


As many as 12 junior players will take part in the international training camp including girls. The training gathering will be an opportunity for the local players to develop their technical and tactical skills. The eight days comprehensive camp will help to determine some potential faces for the national teams. Moreover, the talented table tennis players will get the right environment during the camp to upgrade their skills which may lead to compete at top levels tournaments and events in the regional and intentional levels.


The OTTA is very keen to provide a special programme that will enable the junior players to grow properly and be professional paddlers in the near future. Besides this programme with ITTF, OTTA had set up many talented TT centres with many domestic clubs across the Sultanate of Oman including: Seeb, Ibri, Qurayat, Salalah, Al Ittfaq, Yanqul and Saham.


Hisham Ismail, the appointed coach for the international training camp, is a well-known name in coaching the junior ages paddlers. He was the head coach of Sara El Hakem who became one of the stars in Africa. Also, he is the chief coach of Egyptian youngster Hana Goda.


The selected players for the camp are: Talia al Rawahi, Ritaj al Rawahi, Salma al Nasri, Tariq al Jassasi, Ali al Jassasi, Motasim al Battashi, Abdulaziz al Hasani, Hudifa al Hasani, Moyad al Motawa, Turki al Abri and Yasser al Nasri.
