319 expats arrested for labour law violations

Muscat: The Ministry of Labor said that 310 expatriates were arrested in the Governorate of Muscat in March.


The ministry stated 258 expatriates were arrested for working for someone other than the employer, in violation of Article No. (114) of the Labor Law and 52 were arrested for violation of Article (113) of the Labor Law - working in job positions reserved for Omanis.


641 expatriates were deported in March, of which 108 were working for a different employer.
