Muscat: The Ministry of Labor, represented by the Directorate General of Labor Welfare, recently organized an inspection campaign on several travel and tourism offices.

Around 14 workers were arrested as they were found to be on family joining or tourist visas, which violated the provisions of the Labor Law.

Legal measures will be taken against them.

The family joining visa is granted to an expatriate employee's spouse and children while tourist visas are issued to those coming on short trips to the sultanate.
