Kashyap’s 200 takes Muscat CT to Super League final

MUSCAT: Muscat CT’s Kashyap Prajapati smashed a double century against Oman Stallions confirming Muscat CT’s berth into the final of the Oman Cricket Super League 2022-23 powered by Muscat Pharmacy.


Oman Stallions won the toss and put Muscat CT to bat first. Opener Kashyap Prajapati along with Jatinder Singh powered Muscat CT with a good start. Although losing wickets in clusters, Kashyap looked in sublime form carrying the Muscat CT innings. He went onto score his century at run-a-ball well supported by Ayaan Khan (49 off 58). Kashyap scored his second ton within 48 balls aggregating an innings of 204 runs of 147 balls with 21 fours and 6 sixes helping Muscat CT to reach 333-5 in 50 overs.


In reply, the Muscat CT bowlers ran through the Oman Stallions batting bundling them down for 147 in 44.4 overs with Ayaan Khan (3-13), Samay Shrivastav (2-23) and Sandeep Goud (2-34) among the wickets. Muscat CT registered a 186 run victory, their fifth win of the Super League out of six games.


Muscat CT take on Oman Stallions in the final of the Super League on Monday starting at 9:15am.


Yalla Shabab edge past Renaissance


Yalla Shabab scored 182 all out in 38.3 overs electing to bat first courtesy of Imran Alam (32 off 51) and Khalid Kail (31 off 25). Nadeem Khan picked 4-40 for Renaissance with support from Imran Ali (2-22) and Bilal Mohammed (2-35). In reply, Renaissance were cruising close to the target before losing wickets in clusters. Nadeem Khan’s (54 off 83) saliant effort to get Renaissance close fell short by 3 runs courtesy of brilliant spells from Mohammed Nadeem (4-37) and Hassnain Ali Shah (4-37) bundling them at 179 all out in 49 overs.


Yalla Shabab now take on Renaissance for the third place of the Super League on Tuesday starting 9:15 am.
