

ADAM: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) opened an integrated car park station in the Wilayat of Adam in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Ali Zabanout, Wali of Adam.
The station contains 63 car parking spaces, waiting halls, a mosque, a café, short-stay rooms and a monitoring system.
The station aims to encourage the use of public transportation, enhance road safety and reduce carbon emissions. The project is the first in a series of similar projects that will be implemented in other locations in the upcoming period.
The station will contribute to spreading the culture of mass transportation for employees by providing safe parking spaces equipped with all the services and facilities that corporate employees may need during their commute to and from their workplaces at oil fields.
Engineer Ahmed bin Saleh al Shaibani, Director of Facilities Development and Management at PDO, said that the integrated car station project in the Wilayat of Adam aims at encouraging employees working in the oil sector to use mass transportation provided by PDO in order to ensure traffic safety and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The project provides a safe parking station complete with necessary facilities such as waiting halls with amenities, a café, a mosque, the official said, expressing his hope that similar stations will be established in other locations in different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman over the upcoming period to encourage a culture of mass transportation. — ONA
