Muscat Stables crowned youth champions

Muscat: Ahmed bin Said al Saeedi was crowned the endurance race champion for the junior and youth category for the 2022-23 while Zamzam bint Hamad al Hasaniyah snatched women’s title for endurance race for a distance of 100 km at Al Mahamid Village for Endurance race in the Wilayat of Barka.


With participation of 44 horses, including 29 in the junior and youth race and 15 horses in the women's race, the competition also included 40 km and 80 km qualifying races.


The race witnessed exciting competition for 100 km, divided into four stages, where 12 horses were able to pass the four stages.


The first stage was given a white colour for a distance of 30 km, the second and third stages were given green for a distance of 25 km, and the fourth stage was given a yellow colour for a distance of 20 km.


In the junior and youth race for 100 km, eight horses were able to reach the finish line out of 29. Ahmed al Saeedi on ‘Ankara’ of Muscat Stables claimed the title, coached by Hamad al Saeedi. In second place was ‘Chandra’, ridden by Khaled al Balushi, owned by Ahmed al Balushi and coached by Mohammed al Balushi. ‘Muscat’ owned by Muscat Stables, ridden by Mohammed al Saeedi and trained by Hamad al Saeedi finished third. ‘Bahgaht Muscat’ claimed fourth led by Mohammed al Saeedi.



In the women’s section, high competition was witnessed in the 100 km race with three horses reaching the finish line out of 15 horses.


‘A3AH’ won the title, led by Zamzam bint Hamad al Hasaniyah, owned and coached by Mohammed bin Saleh al Balushi. In second place was Elaf bint Qabeel al Zadjali on ‘Al Qadah’, owned by Ahmed bin Abdullah al Mayoub, and coached by Hamad bin Ali al Balushi. ‘Asater Muscat’, led by Ghadir bint Ahmed al Balushi owned by Muscat Stables, under the coaching of Hamad bin Saeed al Saeedi finished third.


The federation had set general conditions for participating in the 100 km race.


The age of the horse was set above six years with the horse registered with the Omani Equestrian Federation. The heartbeat was 64 beats per minute and the minimum speed was 14 km per hour.
