The Directorate for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at North Al Batinah Police Command arrested 2 persons of an Asian nationality on charges of smuggling drugs in connivance with an international drug cartel.


The defendants were found in possession of 54 kg of crystal meth and 24 blocks of hashish.


The anti-drug unit combed the beaches adjoining the place of the seizure using police dogs and recovered another 18 kg of crystal meth and 7 blocks of hashish that were concealed by the defendants.


Legal procedures against the defendants are underway.
