Muscat Nights changes due to weather!

MUSCAT: The Muscat Municipality and the main organising committee of the Muscat Nights 2023 on Friday announced the temporary suspension of some activities of the Muscat Nights due to uncertain weather conditions that most of the country is currently experiencing.

In a statement, the Muscat Municipality said: “Based on the warning issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology about the instability of the weather and in the interest of everyone’s safety, Muscat Municipality announces the temporary suspension of Muscat Nights activities in the following locations: Naseem Park, Qurum Natural Park, and Oman Convention and Exhibition Center for Friday, except for indoor activities at Oman Automobile Association. All activities will resume on Saturday if the weather condition improves.”

The municipality will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will make further announcements regarding the resumption of activities as necessary.

The Sultanate of Oman is witnessing rainfall of varying intensity from Tuesday. An upper air trough is expected to continue to affect the country until Sunday morning with chances of clouds advection and isolated rain with occasional thundershowers and hail over the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, and Muscat.

Temperature in most of the governorates, especially over the mountain tops, is likely to remain low.
