MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health (MoH), in cooperation with Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and Oman National Investment Programme 'Nazdaher', will launch the investment lab for the health sector at Sheraton Hotel on Sunday.

More than 90 participants from the private sector and other related sectors from government institutions and authorities and leading institutions in the health sector are attending the four-week lab.

The working mechanism of the laboratory includes four phases - assessment by identifying the work scope and targeted programmes, then developing detailed operational plans for the projects, obtaining approval of decision-makers, and tracking progress, and ensuring the quality of work to achieve the vision performance indicators.

The laboratory aims to develop investment in the health sector by looking at the challenges, streamlining procedures, and providing an attractive and enabling environment for investment, which will achieve the strategic target of the lab by raising investments and export volume in the health sector.

The lab will also focus on four health-related pillars designed to promote investments in medical industries, raise the quality of health services, strengthen health sector and promote general enablers such as governance.

Health is the second priority for the society, which includes the core objectives like harnessing efforts for a sustainable healthy community protected from health risks and threats with the involvement of all health sectors in the Sultanate of Oman, in which the culture of "health is the responsibility of all" is fully established in the community.

Moreover, the core objectives also include promoting decentralisation of health services with a transparent and accountable organisational structure, finding diversified and sustainable funding sources for the health sector, empowering the qualified national cadre and capabilities to lead scientific research and health innovation, providing technical, medical services and systems, as well as proving preventive and curative high-quality healthcare at all levels.

Through this laboratory, these objectives will be addressed from an investment perspective to achieve health benefits for the sector and the strategic direction of the laboratory.

It is worth mentioning that 'Nazdaher' is one of the most important national programmes of Oman Vision 2040. It is an intensive programme to accelerate the improvement of investment environment in Oman, whether in the direct economic sectors or in the service and development sectors that have a chance to be an investment tributary for the national economy.
