The AFC Cup champions continued their dominating performance in the domestic competitions as they defeated Al Nasr 2-0 in concluding match of last-16 stage of 2022-23 His Majesty's Cup Football Championship late on Sunday. With the defending champions advancing to the quarterfinals, the last-eight line-up was complete.

At Seeb Stadium, Juma al Habsi gave the hosts the lead earlier in the first half as he netted the opening goal in the 8th minute. Abdulaziz al Maqbali doubled Seeb’s lead as he scored the second goal in the 65th minute.

Earlier on Saturday, Al Bashayer snatched a crucial 1-0 win over hosts Al Wahda at Sur Sports Complex on Saturday.

Al Bashayer, coached under Iraqi coach Adnan Thaer, managed to earn spot in the next stage of the prestigious championship. For the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate team, Deoup netted the winner in the match and this goal was enough to move Al Bashayer to the quarterfinals.

Al Oruba, Al Shabab, Al Nahda, Al Rustaq, Oman Club, Al Suwaiq, Al Bashayer and Seeb confirmed their presence in the quarterfinals after they posted key wins in the last-16 round.

In the first-leg quarterfinals fixtures, Seeb will take on Al Shabab at Seeb Stadium while Al Suwaiq will host Al Bashayer at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. Oman Club will meet Al Rustaq in Seeb Stadium while Al Nahda will face off Al Oruba at Al Buraimi Sports Complex.
