Washington: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the concluding session of annual meetings of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded here on Sunday.
The Omani delegation was headed by Nassir Khamis al Jashmi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance.
The meetings discussed a set of important international issues, among them a study of the financial status of the WB, the IMF and their affiliate organizations as of June 30, 2022. The topics discussed also included reports of the WB and IMF on developments of the global financial and economic situation, policies aimed to spur growth worldwide, address international developmental challenges and adapt to climate change.
On the side-lines of the meeting, Arab ministers of finance held a meeting with the chairman of the WB and the executive president of the IMF. The meeting covered financial and economic issues and prospects for development in the region, besides other matters of mutual interest.
