In order to keep pace with the increase in domestic air traffic, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Tuesday issued its approval for SalamAir to operate six weekly flights between Muscat and Duqm, starting from October 29, 2022.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) recently said it going ahead with plans to provide air connectivity from different parts of this country, including iconic tourist destinations.

Duqm Airport recorded a rise of 6.4 percent in domestic flights (outbound and inbound) to reach 334 by the end of June 2022 compared to 314 flights during the same period in 2021.

It may be noted that countries with expansive domestic networks have recovered faster in the post-pandemic scenario.

Currently, SalamAir flies to domestic destinations, including Muscat, Salalah, and Suhar, and international destinations to Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Trabzon, Bursa, Kathmandu, Baku, Phuket, Prague, Shiraz, Tehran, Alexandria, Khartoum, Multan, Sialkot, Karachi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Jaipur, Trivandrum, and Lucknow. SalamAir flies directly from Suhar to Shiraz, Salalah and Calicut, and Trabzon and from Salalah to Calicut.
