A much-awaited economic conference spotlighting Dhofar Governorate’s diverse investment potential will now be held during September 14-15, 2022 under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

The two-day Dhofar Economic Forum, organised by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Dhofar Branch), will be held at the Millennium Resort Salalah in cooperation with a number of public and private sector organisations.

The event aims to intensify promotional efforts to highlight the quality, specifications and reputation of Omani products in the local and international markets and raise the efficiency of investment, said Eng Hussain al Batahari (pictured), Chairman – OCCI (Dhofar Governorate).

Furthermore, the forum will provide an opportunity for Omani companies to participate in a companion exhibition and thereby secure export orders for their products, appoint distributors in foreign markets, and explore new partnerships, he stated.

“In its first edition, the Dhofar Economic Forum is an opportunity for investors wishing to expand their business locally and regionally. It will also highlight the safe investment environment in the Sultanate of Oman and the components, incentives and opportunities available,” Al Batahari said.

The official pointed out that forum will highlight the governorate’s investment potential and thereby enhance inflows of foreign direct investment into the country.

The forum is expected to attract the participation of business owners from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria, in addition to countries that have well-established economic sectors, notably food and pharmaceuticals, agriculture and fisheries, and other emerging sectors. Special emphasis will be given to investment opportunities available in the Sultanate of Oman during the forum, he noted.

It is estimated that more than 150 participants, representing multinational companies, consulting companies, investment funds, concerned regional and international institutions, and officials from the government sectors in the Sultanate of Oman, will attend the forum. Dedicated sessions will also bring together the CEOs of the largest international companies to explore new investment opportunities.
