HM presides over passing out of officers at Sandhurst

London: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Saturday presided over the passing out of the 222nd Batch of officers at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), one of whose alumni was HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said.


Upon the arrival of His Majesty the Sultan at the parade grounds in London, he was received by Maj Gen Duncan Capps, Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.


As His Majesty the Sultan ascended the dais, the officers of the parade gave the military salute to His Majesty the Sultan. Then, the commander of the parade requested His Majesty the Sultan to inspect the officers’ column. His Majesty the Sultan conversed with the officers, sharing their delight at the completion of the training programme and commending their high level of performance and the skills they gained during their stay at the RMAS.


He urged them to keep up the dedicated sentiment and make more accomplishments in all fields in a manner that elevates the prestige of their respective countries.


Later, His Majesty the Sultan met Omani officers studying at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He congratulated them at attaining this stage of training and underscored the significance of pursuing the course of learning and hone their scholarly and military skills. He wished the officers success in their future missions.


On this auspicious occasion, His Majesty the Sultan presented a memento to the Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. His Majesty the Sultan accepted a souvenir from Maj Gen Capps for His Majesty’s presiding over the passing out of the officers’ batch.


The ceremony was attended by Her Highness The Honourable Lady, Spouse of His Majesty the Sultan, Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham al Said and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom.


His Majesty the Sultan signed the Visitors’ Book, marking the occasion.
