Qarn al Alam records highest temperature of 49.1° C

Muscat: The Met Office on Sunday said Qarn al Alam near Ghaba recorded the highest temperature of 49.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Zamaim (48.8 degrees Celsius) in the last 24 hours.


Qairoon Hirti in Dhofar recorded the lowest temperature of 22.6 degrees Celsius in the Sultanate during the last 24 hours.


The Weather Office on Sunday predicted partly cloudy skies with isolated rain along the coastal areas of Dhofar governorates and adjoining mountains.


Met said, mainly clear skies over the rest of the governorates with chance of dust rising over desert and open areas.


Chance of cloud development and isolated rain occasionally thundershowers over Al Hajar Mountains toward afternoon.


Chance of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over parts of Oman Sea coasts and South Al Sharkhiya and Al Wusta governorates.
