Suwaiq records the highest temperature in Oman

Muscat: Oman Meteorology Office (Oman Met) said on Thursday that coastal areas of the Arabian Sea would experience moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, while coastal areas of Oman Sea will witness light to moderate northeasterly winds during the day becoming southwesterly at night.


Meanwhile, the low-level clouds are intensifying over the coastal strip of the Dhofar Governorate.


The weather forecast continues to signal for unusual high temperatures across the Sultanate of Oman. Meanwhile, the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq has recorded the highest temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius and Qairoon Hiriti has recorded the lowest temperature of 22.5 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.


The Met Office had previously warned people against exposing to high temperatures, requesting them to avoid outdoor activities.
