Muscat Municipality will implement a project for the dualisation of the Sultan Qaboos University road in the Al Khoudh areas of Seeb.

The road will start from the roundabout in District Six in Al Khoud to the traffic lights intersection in front of Gate No. 2 of Sultan Qaboos University.

The project includes the construction of two lanes for each direction with a length of 3.5 km in each direction, the construction of sidewalks for pedestrians along the road in both directions with a total length of 7km, and side barriers and stormwater canals.

The project also includes converting the existing roundabout in the Al Khoudh Sixth District area into a four-way intersection with signal lights, in addition to constructing a new signal-controlled intersection in front of the entrance to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.

The project has been launched to accommodate the increasing traffic in the Al Khoud area and on the road near vicinity of Sultan Qaboos, which is also home to several educational, health, and commercial facilities, and residential neighborhoods.

This project will be completed in the last quarter of 2023.
