New Sultan Qaboos Hospital to be ready in 2024

Muscat: Around 15.97 per cent of construction work for the New Sultan Qaboos Hospital in the Dhofar Governorate has been completed.


Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad al Mashikhi, Director-General of health services in the Governorate of Dhofar, said that the new Sultan Qaboos Hospital will have seven floors and 700 beds.


The new hospital will be equipped with the latest devices and construction will be completed by the end of 2024.


The main building of the hospital will include units for accident and emergency, a medical imaging, rehabilitation, chemotherapy, dialysis, burns, day clinics, and pediatric and intensive care.


The Director General said that all departments and specialties in the current building will be transferred to the new hospital, and that there is a plan to continue some departments and facilities in the current building if needed.
