Muscat will be covered in wild array of colours as the country celebrates the International Colour Festival taking place on March 18, Friday.

Social media has already been feverish with anticipation as different event organisers announce what is waiting for those who would attend.

Around three big festivities are expected to gather crowds all over Muscat. The event concept is based on the famous festival called “Holi” from India. This fun-packed festival has always had a great potential to capture the heart of attendees and over the years, had seen the warm welcome of even children.

One of the highly anticipated this year is "The Biggest Festival Of Colors by Axis Events" which will be conducted at the Al Mouj Golf GCM Lawns with bookings available either through 97798111 or their Instagram account @axis_events.

Introducing the festival back in 2017, Axis Events had packaged the event to be relevant to Omanis and non-Omanis alike. Before Covid19, the event is one of the most-talked-about celebrations gaining fans across different communities and nationalities.

For this year's celebration, the events are taking place in open-air areas and can run from early in the morning until late evening and usually include coloured powder, water, water guns, DJ music, and food booths.

From 2017 to 2019, thousands of people had been taking part in the fun during Axis Events' celebration. This year they have come up with a very meaningful message “Whenever you splash colours on someone, you give them a promise of being truthful towards them always, maintaining a lifelong brotherhood and showering them with all the possible love.”

Nithin R. Nair, the CEO of Axis Events shared that just like the previous celebrations, they are hosting the event at a premium venue in Al Mouj Golf GCM lawn where the site can handle the swell of visitors with ample parking for different vehicles.

An expert in bringing the fun, he also mentioned that available on the venue will be “organic coloured powder, rain dance, fire dance, kid’s entertainment area along with the international music with various food stalls”.

In the same spirit, Al Falaj Hotel will also have their own version of celebration to be conducted at their pool-side with a Bollywood theme and comes with colours and food stalls.

For Holi Dhamal by Al Falaj Hotel bookings, people can visit their Instagram @alfalajmuscat or contact 97986443.

The Indian Social Club on the other hand will follow the traditional Holi Festival and has announced that they will hold their event in a Barka farmhouse where attendees will be treated to different games and access to pools. Reservation for this can be made through their contact number 92975544 / 99064960.

Participants are usually encouraged to attend celebrations in plain white t-shirts or dresses to get the full effect of the colours. If it's your first time to join the celebration, be ready to be splashed with coloured powder at any time. The spirit of the celebration is in the surprise of the burst of colours coming your way.
