Oman-US joint air drill kicks off

Muscat: The joint air drill Accurate Test carried out by the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) with participation of personnel from the United States Air Force (USAF), kicked off on Sunday and runs till May 19.


Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad al Ghafri, Commander of (RAFO) and Lt Gen Gregory M Guillot, Commander of the Ninth Air Force at the US Central Command visited the drill site and listened to a briefing about the progress of the exercise and its objectives.


The drill comes as part of the plans aimed at sustaining preparedness level and combat readiness and realizes the operational goals and national duties undertaken by RAFO.


The launch of the drill was attended by Air Commodore Khalid bint Mohammed al Abri, RAFO Director-General of Operations and the US ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman as well as a number of officers from the US air force taking part in the exercise. — ONA
