Royal Windsor Horse Show wraps up with Oman’s participation

London: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said attended the closing ceremony of the Royal Windsor Horse Show 2022, held on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and Head of the Commonwealth, on Monday.


The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Royal Court Affairs, took part in the Windsor Horse Show which was attended by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Aimed at introducing the civilizational and cultural heritage of the Sultanate of Oman, the Royal Cavalry was keen on its participation to present various traditional horse shows.


These performances received a good turnout, as the audiences were highly impressed by the Omani costumes worn by horses’ riders.


Thousands of people interested in equestrian sports from different countries of the world attended the show, while many others watched this global event on TV screens and various social media platforms.

Meanwhile, the British government frequently holds various exhibitions on the Parade Ground of the British Royal Windsor Castle to exhibit the latest horses and equestrian-related products, including equipment and supplies for horses and clothes for equestrians.

The government of the Sultanate of Oman has devoted a special corner in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the Royal Windsor Show for horses, which highlights the Sultanate of Oman’s interest in horses and equestrianism, in addition to promoting tourism for the most prominent tourist places and elements that characterize the. The corner also showcases Omani products for small and medium enterprises.


Dr. Sarhan bin Salem Al-Zaidi, Director General of the Royal Cavalry, highlighted the success of the Royal Cavalry's participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show, noting that they have received great praise and commendation from organizers of the show.


“This participation bridges the cultural communication between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, asserting that these international shows contribute to the exchange of experiences between the participating riders from different countries of the world”, Al-Zaidi added.

Pam Swift, Director of the Royal Windsor Show, explained the Royal Cavalry’s participation in the show highlighted the historic ties linking the Sultanate of Oman with the United Kingdom.


"The Royal Cavalry's show was distinguished and received great interaction from the audience who saluted and applauded the riders of the Royal Cavalry. Personally, I loved the music and the harmony I have seen in this show”, she commented.
