The Royal Opera House Muscat is delighted to announce the upcoming concert with the exciting virtuoso pianist, Alexander Malofeev, performing alongside the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra. The concert will be conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky, artistic director and chief conductor of the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra.


The performance will take place at the House of Musical Arts on Thursday May 12 at 7.30pm.


Enjoy a concert starring one of the world’s most extraordinary performers. The young artist, Alexander Malofeev, is an award-winning Russian pianist who has been playing the piano since he was 5 years old, tackling pieces by Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich by the age of 7. At the age of 13 won the biggest youth piano competition in Russia, catapulting him into national and international fame. Now 20 years old, Alexander Malofeev has performed throughout the world to huge critical acclaim.


The concert presents a stirring programme featuring Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Borodin. The National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan has been celebrated worldwide for its elegant and sophisticated sound and dynamic approach to programming.


All visits to the opera house are conducted under the guidelines of the Supreme Committee responsible for measures to tackle the development of Covid-19. Social distancing is maintained throughout the building and the wearing of facemasks is mandatory.
