The Royal Opera House Muscat is delighted to announce the upcoming opera to be performed at the Royal Opera House Muscat, L’Elisir d’Amore – The Factory of Ideas.
The opera, based on the L’Elisir d’Amore composed by Gaetano Donizetti (1797 – 1848) will be performed by the internationally renowned company As.Li.Co Teatro Sociale di Como. Returning to Muscat for the 4th time, the company is widely acknowledged as the most successful touring company developing new and young audiences for opera.
L’Elisir d’Amore – The Factory of Ideas explores Donizetti’s classic opera with an eye for capturing the imagination and attention of children. The opera has been reworked so that elements of the singing can be interactive, and so that the stage cast can appeal directly to children in the audience for their contribution and involvement in the story.
Schools across Muscat have been collaborating with As.Li.Co, culminating in a series of performances exclusively for schools in a fascinating learning journey, featuring significant artistic commitment from the schools, teachers and especially the children of Muscat.
On Saturday 12th March, 4pm, the show is open to everyone. Families and opera fans from across the region can expect a vibrant and entertaining show, providing the perfect introduction to the opera genre.
All visits to the opera house are conducted under the guidelines of the Supreme Committee responsible for measures to tackle the development of Covid-19.
