Zero VAT labels mandatory on all exempted goods

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has directed all shops and commercial centers to place a label on all goods exempted from Value Added Tax (VAT).


It may be noted that the inspectors to intensify their inspection campaigns on all commercial, industrial and service establishments to ensure the availability of basic commodities, price stability, and the correct application of value-added tax.


CPA has also urged shoppers to do efficient shopping, make sure of prices of goods, services, promotions, discounts, and also that the prices of goods are the same as that at the shelf and the accountant.
