More food items added to zero VAT list

Muscat: The head of the Tax Authority has issued Resolution 89/2023 amending some provisions of Resolution 90/2021 specifying food commodities subject to value-added tax at zero rates.


Article 1 of the decision has added a list of 24 food commodities that will be subject to Value-Added Tax (VAT) at zero rates.


The items include barley, soybeans, wheat, corn, brown corn, soybeans, whole soybeans, raw grains, cabbage (forage turnip),
