Sultan’s Cup competitions started for RCC camel racing

The Royal Camel Corps' (RCC) camel racing competition started today at the Al Fulaij Track for Camel Racing in Barka.


The event is being organised by Oman Camel Racing Federation (OCRF) and will be held from March 28-31st.


The competition will start with ’Alhagayeg’ category in 16 rounds. 11 rounds will be for female (Bkar), the first five rounds with car prizes and the remaining 6 rounds with cash prize (RO 700).


The last five rounds for male (Geadan), the first main round with car prize, and cash prize ( RO 700) for four rounds. In all 16 rounds, the top ten winner will get cash prizes.


The event is being held with the support of camel owners and the rules and regulations of the event were laid out by the Royal Court of Affairs.


The winner camels will have to be according to RCC requirements. The winner must have the best time from all rounds in same category and the camel owner should be Omani and the camel itself should be of Omani origin.


In the 'Alhagayeg' category, the first winning with the best time will have RO 8000 from 16 rounds, two camels will be bought from 'Lagaya' category the top camel will have RO 7000 and the second one will have RO 6000 from all nine rounds.


Two camels will be bought from 'Elythaa' category, RO 6000 and RO 5500 , one camel with RO 5000 from 'Althnaya' category from three rounds.


Finally, RO 5500 for the top winner in 'Alhool' category out of four rounds.
