Overnight rains disrupt traffic in Muscat

Muscat: Normal vehicular traffic has been disrupted on Sultan Qaboos Street in Ghubhra (Near Extra) due to overnight heavy rains that lashed the city, which continued until Monday morning.


Long queues of vehicles were seen on the Muscat Expressway towards Qurum due to reported flooding on the main road in Al Khuwair and Ghubra.


Vehicle traffic has stopped Azaiba Bridge towards Qurum on Sultan Qaboos Street, the ROP said.


Traffic has been also closed on Amerat- Bausher mountain road.


An expatriate died due to shortness of breath after he got trapped inside a vehicle following rain in the Jibroo area of Muttrah.


According to Oman Meteorology, Monday, the weather will be partly cloudy with chances of scattered rain over Musandam Governorate and parts of the coastal areas overlooking the Sea of ​​Oman.
