Now, olive oil is produced locally in Sultanate of Oman

Muscat: A modern mill in the Wilayat of Bahla has been producing 10 tonnes of high-quality olive oil per day, in addition to other products such as soap that are made from the waste. Work is underway to produce olive oil spray.


Majid bin Abdullah al Jaafari, owner of the olive oil mill, said "The idea of establishing a mill in the Sultanate following his visit to several olive oil-producing countries.


He added that the shipping period does not exceed four days from the date of picking the fruit to the place of the mill. Some quantity of olives were also imported from Syria.
