Unvaccinated expats can return, quarantine must

Muscat: Expatriates working in the public and private sector units and holding a valid residency can return to the Sultanate even if they were not able to get one or two doses of vaccine in their countries.


According to an official statement, non-Omanis holding a valid residency visa who have not received the vaccine are allowed to return to the Sultanate, but subject to applicable procedures, such as taking the PCR test before arrival, PCR test upon arrival at Oman's airports, wearing the electronic tracking bracelet and home quarantine for Omanis and institutional quarantine for non-Omanis for seven days.


The PCR test has to be repeated on the eight-day.
