Oman reports 43 deaths, 2, 234 cases in 24 hours

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday reported 2,234 new cases and 43 deaths over the past 24 days.


The total number of cases registered in the Sultanate has now reached 266,536, including 3,056 deaths.


It took 62 days to cross the 3,000-mark from the 2,000-mark, which was reached on April 28, 2021.


181 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of inpatients to 1,613 including 525 in intensive care units.


The total number of recoveries is 232,287 while the recovery rate is 87.5 percent.


Oman has reported nearly 700 deaths due to Covid this month, of which 89 of them were in the last two days.


With a total toll of 3,056 deaths, around 1.15 percent of the total infected people in the country have died.


According to statistics, 11.3% or 30, 193 people of the total infected cases are still sick of Covid in Oman.
