MUSCAT: The Directorate General of Health Services for the Governorate of Muscat will provide home immunization service against covid-19 for a group of clinically handicapped and those with special needs whose condition prevents them from attending the immunization centres.

"Those responsible for the caring of this category are kindly requested to go directly to the health center, with the need to bring for registration during workdays Sunday to Thursday (8 am- 1 pm).

The registered person will be contacted to schedule a visit for home immunization.

The Directorate-General of Health Services in Governorate of Muscat said the vaccination service will resume today for people aged 45 years and older and pregnant women in their fourth month of pregnancy, at the Oman Automobile Association.

The drive-through vaccination service will be available from 3 pm to 7 pm and there will be a weekly update regarding the service.

Due to the safety, the ministry urged all pregnant women to approach the vaccination centres to get the vaccine, starting from the fourth month of pregnancy.

The Ministry of Health continued its vaccination campaign on Saturday for the targeted groups at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Meanwhile, the service for requesting promotional offers, discounts, and advertising publications has been suspended until further notice, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) said on Saturday.

The Ministry stresses the need for all commercial centers, shops, and industrial establishments to abide by the decisions to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.

Several supermarkets and shops have also been closed for violations and not complying with the precautionary requirements.

It may be not that people were crowding hypermarkets, shops, and gift markets that were offering heavy discounts to lure customers.

“There was an instance of the crowd gathering at a supermarket offering discounts even before they opened doors for customers in the morning,” sources told the Observer.
