MUSCAT: In response to the Royal directives issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to expedite the implementation of employment initiatives, the Ministry of Labour continues to provide job opportunities to nationals in coordination with the military security authorities, the Diwan of Royal Court and the Royal Court Affairs.

Since the beginning of the implementation of the Royal directives, the ministry published 7 employment advertisements for various specialisations and educational levels at the military and security authorities. Over the past two weeks, the interviews, tests and evaluation of the applicants, got underway in various military authorities. Besides, the preparations have been completed to summon the job-seekers who met the conditions to undergo interviews and tests. The active job-seekers at the labour registers are vying for the announced job vacancies.

Yahya bin Mohammed al Battashi, Director of the Department of Other Units Affairs at the Ministry of Labour, said that the ministry is currently preparing the necessary procedures for the upcoming period in coordination with the relevant authorities as well the provision of job-related training for the replacement and employment in the other departments for the technical and professional specialisations for the general education diploma and below. This is in addition to the continued coordination to find different jobs needed by these departments.

Al Battashi explained that the Ministry of Labour has coordinated with the military and security authorities, the Diwan of Royal Court and the Royal Court Affairs, to notify the ministry of their job vacancies.

The job-seekers are permitted to apply for more than one job in different entities but they cannot apply for more than one job with the same entity, Al Battashi said, adding that the e-system allows to identify the jobs that match each job-seeker in terms of the education level and experience. They are also able to know the number of applicants for each job and they can enquire about their educational and personal information without the need to approach the ministry’s offices.

The e-system enables the employers to conduct the appointment procedures by simplifying the advertising procedures and reducing time, effort and cost. He noted that the Tajneed (recruitment) website taj.nce.gov.om is a new addition to the centralisation of advertising of job vacancies available at the military and security authorities. The website provides the service of applying for job vacancies in different entities and for all jobs and educational levels. The system provides the service of viewing the dates and timing of interviews through SMS associated with the website, the official said. — ONA
