Mercury crosses 50-Degree mark in Al Sunainah

Muscat: Al Sunainah's weather station recorded the highest temperature (50.1°C) in the Sultanate on Saturday, Oman’s Met Office said.


Extreme heatwave continued in various parts of Oman with temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius and above.

Clear to partly cloudy skies along the coastal area of Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains with chance of intermittent rains. Mainly clear skies over the rest of the Sultanate with clouds formation and isolated light rain along the coasts of Oman Sea. Chances of clouds development over Al-Hajar Mountains, Arabian Sea and Oman Sea coasts.


Wind


Along the coastal area of Oman sea winds will be north-easterly light to moderate, while it will be southeasterly light to moderate over the rest of the Sultanate and southwesterly fresh along with the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea. However, it will be northwesterly light to moderate over Al Dhahira and Al Buraimi governorates.
