Salim Ali Said, known as "Omani Song Ambassador" passed away today after a long battle against illness. Born in 1959 in Salalah, Ali Said started singing national songs since the beginning of the Blessed Renaissance in the 70s. In 2007, he obtained Sultan Qaboos Second Class Order on Culture, Science and Arts in appreciation for his efforts in disseminating the Omani song.
