Rafo receives Hawk trainer jets

The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) celebrated the arrival of the first batch of the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer aircraft at a ceremony presided over by Air Vice Marshal Matar bin Ali al Obaidani, Commander of RAFO, at the Masirah Air Base, yesterday.


The aircrafts are the first of a group of the same aircraft, which the Sultanate agreed to purchase from BAE System of UK. The remaining jets will be delivered according to the agreed schedule.


The Hawk trainer jets are advanced training aircraft that equip top level fighter pilots with the best of skill and efficiency. It is also equipped with modern systems that meet the needs of training fighter pilots.


The introduction of this generation of aircraft comes as part of the upgrading and development plans for the Royal Air Force of Oman (Rafo) and other SAF corps.
