PEIE marks 47th National Day

MUSCAT: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) organised recently an event in line with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the 47th Glorious National Day under the auspices of Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and chairman of PEIE board of directors. The event was held at Middle East College in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).


Speaking at the event, Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, Chief Executive Officer of PEIE, expressed the joy felt by all the employees in the industrial sector to celebrate this precious occasion. “The positive results witnessed in the past decades represent the fruits of the overall vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. Since the dawn of the blessed Renaissance, His Majesty has focused on comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development covering the various governorates of the Sultanate,” Al Hasani pointed out.


A short video was screened at the event, reflecting the achievements of the blessed Renaissance and the development throughout the years. The video also highlighted the progress witnessed by the industrial sector in the Sultanate, and particularly the industrial estates. Today, PEIE is responsible for developing and managing seven prime industrial estates at Sur, Suhar, Raysut, Nizwa, Al Buraimi, Al Rusayl and, Samayil, in addition to the ICT park known as Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), and the Al Mazunah Free Zone.

The child Azza al Harthy, who came second in the Million’s Poet for kids competition, also took part in the event, in addition to the poets Haitham al Busaidi and Said al Hajri who participated with poems that reflect love towards the leader and the country. A number of plays, traditional arts and cultural competitions were organised during the event. Success stories of a number of PEIE employees were highlighted at the event.
