MUSCAT, JAN 24 - Oman slumped to third straight defeat when they fell 40-25 to Iran in their last Group 1 match in the 18th Asian Men’s Handball Championship in Suwon, South Korea, on Wednesday. Iran led Oman 22-12 at the half-time at the Seo-Suwon Chilbo Gymnasium in Suwon. Now Oman will play UAE for the seventh-place classification match on January 26. In Group 2, Bahrain sealed the second semifinal spot after beating Japan 29–21. The teams were tied 13-13 at the break. In the semifinals on January 26, Saudi Arabia will meet Bahrain and Qatar take on hosts South Korea. The final will be held on January 28.
