MUSCAT, NOV 8

Masirah Club tightened their grip on the 2026 Oman Clubs Bowling League after defeating Al Ittifaq 6-2 in the third round, maintaining their perfect start as Salalah continued to apply pressure at the top.

Eight matches were played in the round, with six producing outright winners and two ending level. Salalah beat Oman Club 6-2, while Bausher and Al Bashayer shared the points in a 4-4 draw. Al Shabab defeated Al Musannah 6-2 and Al Mudhaibi drew 4-4 with Qurayat.

Al Amerat recorded the biggest result of the round with an 8-0 sweep of Saham. Seeb overcame Al Nasr 6-2, while Muscat Club secured a similar win against Jaalan.

The standings, updated after four rounds, show Masirah alone at the summit with 30 points, four ahead of second-placed Salalah on 26. Muscat Club occupy third on 22, with Seeb fourth and Al Amerat fifth on 20 each. Oman Club and Jaalan have 18 points apiece in sixth and seventh.

Al Ittifaq are eighth on 16 points, ahead of Bausher and Al Mudhaibi, who have the same tally. Al Nasr and Qurayat follow on 12, while Saham have 10. Al Shabab sit 14th with eight points, and Al Bashayer and Al Musannah complete the table with six each.

The closely packed midfield leaves several clubs within striking distance of the leading positions, although Masirah and Salalah have already established a clear early advantage. Both sides will now seek to maintain momentum as the league enters its next phase.

Musaab al Adawi of Salalah continued to lead the accompanying Masters League with an average of 201.42 pins per game. Seeb’s Moosa al Maimani is second on 192.75, followed by Masirah’s Hassan al Azri on 187. Khalid Bait Ali of Salalah is fourth with 183.08, ahead of Masirah’s Ahmed al Jabri on 181.17 and Seeb’s Mubarak al Kharousi on 180.17.

Al Amerat’s Saleh al Riyami occupies seventh with 177, while Muscat Club’s Juma al Habsi and Al Nasr’s Mohammed al Abri share the next two positions on 176.33. Salalah’s Ghalib al Busaidi rounds out the top 10 with 175.

Masirah’s Sultan al Jabri is 11th on 173.67, followed by Salalah’s Hassan al Kharousi on 173.22, Al Shabab’s Asad al Hashmi on 173.17 and Seeb’s Abid al Balushi on 173.09. Oman Club’s Ayman al Balushi stands 15th on 172.17, while Al Ittifaq’s Fay al Jardani completes the top 16 with 171.4.

The league features 16 clubs competing in a single round-robin format over 15 rounds and 120 matches. Each fixture comprises three games, with four bowlers representing each team. The compact standings and the battle for places in the Masters League are expected to keep both the team and individual competitions keenly contested throughout the season.
