The Ministry of Information showcased the services of the Ayn digital platform during a workshop organised by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, in partnership with the Ministry of Information, at the meeting hall of the Governorate headquarters on Thursday.

The workshop featured Ayn content and its services, as well as opportunities to contribute to the creation of its content. It also sought to raise awareness about the safe and responsible use of social media platforms and digital technologies. Ayn is the first interactive digital platform in the Sultanate of Oman, launched by the Ministry of Information in 2021. It is a digital initiative designed to enrich Omani and Arab digital media content. It hosts over 85,000 diverse audio and visual assets — including radio and television programmes, series, films, and audiobooks, as well as cultural, tourism-related, and religious content. The platform also offers live broadcasts, the ability to download content for offline viewing, a catch-up service, allowing users to watch previously aired television programmes and listen to radio broadcasts.

Zainab bint Said al Hashami, Ayn’s content production specialist who introduced the platform, said: "The platform features a dedicated children’s section offering more than 8,000 diverse items of content, aimed at strengthening Omani identity and instilling Omani values and traditions among children through health, science, entertainment and educational programmes."

She added that the section offers a variety of content, including programmes, animated cartoons, audiobooks and stories. It also allows parents to create multiple accounts for their children according to their ages, while providing talented young users with opportunities to showcase their work and take part in content creation.

Al Hashami said that the platform recorded a total of 21,818,191 audio streams, video views and live broadcasts, including 731,198 audio listeners, 3,205,479 video views and 17,881,514 live broadcasts. The children’s section recorded 1,100,502 audio listeners and video views.

These initiatives reflect Ayn’s efforts to expand its digital services and provide diverse media content that combines knowledge and entertainment, keeps pace with the interests of audiences across different age groups, and offers children greater opportunities to explore their interests, develop their talents and contribute to content creation.
