Paris Fashion Week show
Bosideng marked its 50th anniversary with ‘The Bloom’, a fashion show at Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo, Karl Lagerfeld’s former Paris residence. Featured in the Paris Fashion Week Events Programme, the presentation followed earlier shows in New York, Milan and London.
Designed by Creative Director Pietro Ferragina, the collection reimagines the down jacket as a fashion statement, combining Chinese craftsmanship with international design influences.
Inspired by the concept of blooming, the collection brings together Art Deco geometry and Chinese heritage, incorporating the Haipai qipao, a Shanghai-style fitted dress, and Song brocade, a traditional figured silk from Suzhou. Silk, feathers and quilted textures add depth, challenging conventional perceptions of down jackets as bulky and unfashionable.
The collection features four lines: Extreme Cold, Outdoor, Business and Puff. Extreme Cold combines technical insulation with eveningwear-inspired silhouettes, while Outdoor merges mountaineering technology with fluid cuts and traditional Chinese details. Business offers structured tailoring suited to modern working life, while Puff, the brand’s signature line, explores lightweight, rounded silhouettes through three-dimensional construction.
The show concluded with pink, head-to-toe down eveningwear, offering a romantic interpretation of winter fashion.
The historic venue was transformed into an immersive garden reflecting the collection’s theme. Guests included supermodel Coco Rocha, actresses Mao Xiaotong, Michelle Chen and Ouyang Didi, and actor Chen Tianxiang, alongside representatives from international fashion and cultural organisations.
An anniversary exhibition accompanied the show, tracing Bosideng’s evolution through key designs and collaborations with Jean Paul Gaultier, Kenzo Takada and MSGM. Featured pieces included trench-style down coats, ultralight jackets and the Puff collection, illustrating five decades of innovation.
The celebrations continued at the Eiffel Tower, where Bosideng hosted ‘The Next Great Chapter’, its 50th Anniversary International Gala at the Gustave Eiffel Hall.
Founded in China, Bosideng has specialised in down jackets for five decades. The brand has been China’s best-selling down jacket brand for 31 consecutive years and has represented the country at international cold-weather apparel presentations for 30 years.
Today, its products are sold in 72 countries and worn by more than 200 million people. Its global flagship store on London’s Oxford Street supports its international presence, while runway presentations and designer collaborations have helped position the down jacket as a fashion item.
Following its Master Puff presentation on the sidelines of Paris Fashion Week last year, Bosideng’s inclusion in the 2026 Paris Fashion Week Events Programme marks another milestone in its international expansion.
